2002年夏季,日产在雷诺的全力支持下,Z系列以第五代350Z(Z33)的身份重回大众视野。和GT-R如出一辙,350Z以保时捷boxser为竞争对手,受上一代过高售价而压垮的第四代Z系列的影响,售价更是压低在30000美元之下,约26000美元起售(约合人民币17万3)。底盘延续上一代Z系列结构,但是悬挂和车身却有着更大的强度。其传动轴是碳纤维加强版,使得百公里加速达到了5.6秒。引擎重心后置给了整辆车极佳的操控性。350Z搭载3.5升VQ35DE DOHC V6 发动机,在CVVT和高压缩比的帮助下输出287匹马力和371牛。后期被高转速版本的VQ35HR发动机所替代。然而相比上一代口碑则差很多。凭借极高的性价比,350Z达到了销量预期,标志着Z系列车的正式回归。同时,低售价也代表着Z系列回到Yutaka Katayama当年对Z系列的定义:可负担得起的跑车。
